iPhone & iOS 27 Problems

Last updated: November 4, 2026

This page collects our iPhone guides in one place, starting with the problems people run into after moving to iOS 27. Apple released iOS 27 in September 2026. As of November 2026, its iOS 27 release notes list three versions so far: iOS 27, iOS 27.0.1 and iOS 27.2. Each guide below names the iOS version its steps were checked against. If a menu on your iPhone looks different, a newer update has probably moved it, and we’d like to hear about it.

Every guide here follows the same approach. We give the short answer first, then the fixes in order, from the quick and safe ones to the last-resort steps. Steps are checked against Apple Support and the help pages of the app involved, and we link to those pages so you can confirm them yourself. Where something simply can’t be done on an iPhone, we say so rather than suggest a workaround that doesn’t really work.

Before you try any fix

  • Check your iOS version. Go to Settings > General > About and look at iOS Version. Many problems after a big update are fixed in the next small one, so check Settings > General > Software Update too.
  • Back up first. Before you reset settings, delete data or sign out of your Apple Account, make sure an iCloud or computer backup has finished recently.
  • Restart the iPhone. It’s a cliché because it works more often than it should, and it costs nothing.
  • Update your apps. When only one app misbehaves after an iOS update, an App Store update for that app is often the fix.
  • Check free storage. A nearly full iPhone causes slowdowns, failed updates and failed backups, so it’s worth ruling out early.

Some iOS 27 complaints are about design rather than faults. For example, Apple’s release notes describe a new slider for adjusting how Liquid Glass looks, from clear to tinted. When a change is a setting rather than a bug, our guides show you where the setting lives instead of treating it as a problem to fix.
