Gmail & Google Account Help

Last updated: November 4, 2026

Your Google Account is usually the key to everything else. It holds your Gmail, your photos, your phone backups and the address that resets every other password you have. So when you’re locked out, out of storage or missing emails, it feels urgent. This page gathers our Gmail and Google Account guides so you can go straight to the right fix.

Two things shape a lot of the advice. First, the free 15 GB that comes with a Google Account is shared between Gmail, Google Drive and Google Photos, so a “Gmail storage full” warning often has nothing to do with your inbox. Second, Google doesn’t offer a phone line or a human appeal for getting back into a personal Gmail account. Recovery goes through Google’s own account recovery page, and anyone offering to recover your account for a fee is someone to avoid.

How to use these guides

  • Read the warnings before deleting anything. Emails you delete from Trash, and files you remove from Drive’s bin, are gone for good. Our guides say clearly when a step can’t be undone.
  • Check which app you’re in. The Gmail app, Gmail in a browser and your phone’s own mail app behave differently. Each guide says which one its steps are for.
  • Use a device you’ve signed in on before. For account recovery, Google’s own help says a familiar device and location help your chances. Our recovery guide explains the rest.
  • Treat “Google support” numbers as scams. A number found in an ad or a search result isn’t Google. Never give anyone your password or a sign-in code.
